The Smart Hospital Project Scientific Symposium

September 16th, 2024 at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre

The Smart Hospital Project hosted leading researchers in neonatal care in our first ever symposium!

The event was an unparalleled opportunity for neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses, researchers, and healthcare providers to converge and share the latest advancements, research findings, and clinical practices in neonatal medicine. This year's symposium focused on the theme "Innovations and Challenges in Neonatal Care," addressing the most pressing issues and pioneering solutions in the field.

We were fortunate enough to hear from great minds such as Dr. John Rogers (Northwestern University, USA), Dr. Paolo Manzoni (Degli Infermi Hospital, Italy) and representatives from two of our main industry collaborators, iKinesia Inc. and Sibel Health.

Our students presented findings from past and present research studies including using wireless sensors for vital signs monitoring and using acoustics for improved diagnostics and treatment of neonates. Their presentations impressed all in attendance, which just reiterates how amazing and talented they are.
